AC Milan have left themselves needing a second leg comeback in order to get through to the last 16 of the Champions League after losing to Feyenoord last night.

The only goal of the game came in the opening few minutes and as Igor Paixao’s shot from range seemed to take a bounce that surprised Mike Maignan and he could only palm it into the back of the net.

After the 1-0 defeat, Milan are now in need of a much stronger second leg back at San Siro next week, otherwise the European journey will end prematurely.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan, what a blunder. Champions League: bad defeat in Holland. Maignan’s blunder, the 4 stars are turned off. Feyenoord win, now it will be tough at San Siro.”
