Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck will reportedly get the nod for tomorrow’s Serie A encounter against Udinese.
The 23-year-old has been gaining more playing time this season after spending the previous one as a mere backup for Benjamin Pavard.
Aside from giving away a last-gasp spot-kick to Genoa for a handball, the German has been solid at the back.
He produced a fine showing in the opening Champions League fixture against Manchester City last week.
In last weekend’s Derby della Madonnina, Bisseck made way for Pavard on the right side of the defensive trio.
However, the Frenchman didn’t truly cover himself in glory. The showdown ended with AC Milan’s surprising 2-1 victory over the Nerazzurri.
Therefore, Simone Inzaghi is looking to make some tweaks in his starting lineup once more.
And according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, this includes dropping the out-of-form Pavard in favor of Bisseck.
The former Aarhus defender could be the right profile to match the strength of gigantic Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca.
Therefore, Inzaghi has several viable reasons to revert to the services of the Germany U21 starlet.
The source feels that Bisseck now has a genuine chance to cement himself as a regular starter, taking full advantage of Pavard’s struggles.
The German arrived at the club last season as a relative unknown. Nevertheless, he slowly but surely made a reputation for himself as a reliable option at the back.
And at the age of 23, the young man has time on his side. So it remains to be seen if the outing against Udinese could elevate Bisseck’s role at the club.
