Italy and Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma opens up on the criticism faced since leaving Milan.

Speaking in an interview with SportMediaset via Calcio Mercato, Donnarumma commented on the criticism received from the media since his departure from Milan in 2021 on a free transfer to PSG. The 25-year-old spent six years with the Rossoneri and joined Les Parisiens, where he immediately became the first-choice goalie.

Donnarumma felt that the criticism he receives is a ‘targetted’ one but he has started to cope it well. He said: “In the last period, since I left Italy, I have been a bit too targeted, this bothers me a bit. But now I have broad shoulders, I have been playing for many years so I know how it works and I know what I have to do to stay in my bubble”.

The interviewer asked the Italian international about his predictions for the Serie A this season. While he fancied Napoli as they are league leaders at the moment and they are desperate for some silverware this campaign, Donarumma also highlighted the firepower in the likes of Inter, Milan and Juventus. He said: “I often watch the games, this year I see a good championship. I think Napoli with Conte can do very well, can be a nuisance and without cups, I think they have a better chance of winning the scudetto. But there is Milan, there is Inter, there is Juve, so it all remains to be seen. It will be a good championship until the end”.
