Brendan Rodgers’ side travel to Bavaria aiming to overcome a 2-1 deficit following Bayern’s narrow victory in the first leg at Celtic Park last Wednesday.
Michael Olise and Harry Kane were on the scoresheet for the visitors – but Daizen Maeda’s late header offers Celtic a semblance of hope as the Scottish champions seek to deliver one of their greatest ever European results.
And now, UEFA have allocated French referee Benoit Bastien as the man in the middle for Celtic’s trip to the Allianz Arena.
Bastien was the whistler for Celtic’s matchday four encounter versus Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in Glasgow’s east end. The Hoops impressively dispatched Marco Rose’s side 3-1 in a famous win in the competition. Benoit Bastien also had the whistle at Celtic Park in December 2023 as Celtic defeated Feyenoord in the Champions League group stage match that was effectively a dead rubber.

Joining Bastein on-field for proceedings on Tuesday evening in Germany is fellow Frenchman Hicham Zakrani and Aurelien Berthomieu, with Jeremie Pignard taking up the role as Fourth Official.
Meanwhile, manning VAR is Willy Delajod with Benoit Millot being given AVAR duties to complete a full officiating team from France.
Kick off for tomorrow’s second leg at the Allianz is 8:00pm and will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video. Indeed, Celtic will create history by becoming the first Scottish club to ever be broadcasted live on Amazon Prime. Coverage starts at 6.30pm (Celtic Park Time).
