Much to the frustration of VfL Wolfsburg coach Ralph Hasenhüttl, his side missed the chance to take three points on Friday as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Holstein Kiel.
"The two points we lost here today will really hurt us later in the season, I think. That's why we can't be too happy about it right now," Hasenhüttl said in a post-match interview.
Trailing by a goal at the break, Wolfsburg fought back to take a 2-1 lead, but were unable to hold on as Kamil Grabara spilled Steven Skrzybski's late shot into the net.
"There was hardly a chance to score, but it was still a goal," said an angry Hasenhüttl, who was disappointed with his side's first-half performance:
"That was a non-performance," he complained, but added that the reaction at the break was “very good”.
Wolfsburg are currently sixth in the Bundesliga.
