Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim delivered a significant transfer hint on Sunday.
Alejandro Garnacho continues to be the subject of intense speculation. Napoli and Chelsea are reportedly eyeing the 20-year-old starlet.
Amorim has remained tight-lipped about Garnacho’s future until now. He offered the first glimmer of hope that the young forward could remain at United beyond the transfer window.
He told TNT Sports (h/t BBC Sport): “He’s our player, and I’m really happy with Garnacho – he’s improving a lot. I think he had a really good game last Thursday.
“He’s a young kid, so he can recover very well – he’s prepared for this game, and we want to use all the talent of Garnacho to win this game.”
United are reportedly willing to sanction his exit for £55 million.
However, allowing Garnacho to leave won’t be a wise move. Despite his inconsistencies, he has the potential to become a future superstar.
Described as a player with ‘great qualities‘, he has already racked up over 100 appearances for the Red Devils.
He has gained a wealth of experience and still has the best years of his career ahead of him.
United have a legacy of nurturing young talents and helping them shine at the highest level.
Cashing in on Garnacho would be a major blow to that proud tradition.
