Celtic travel to Edinburgh to face Hibernian this afternoon at Easter Road. The Scottish Champions were knocked out of Europe in heartbreaking circumstances as Bayern Munich scored a 94th minute equaliser but focus for Brendan Rodgers’ side will be sealing the title and regaining the Scottish Cup.

Team News

Celtic go into the game with no fresh injury concerns from the midweek European action. The Celts will soon welcome back James Forrest but the trip to Edinburgh comes too soon for the veteran winger. Paulo Bernardo remains sidelined with an ankle injury and you have to feel that the Portuguese midfielder could have been the difference the other night.

Kasper Schmeichel earned the Man of the Match accolade in Munich and he will start in goals.

At the back, Jefferey Schlupp will be in contention to start at left back after his showing away from home. Expect North American trio Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty to start across the back line with either Schlupp or Taylor.

In midfield; Callum McGregor will start at the base of the midfield. There is an argument for Luke McCowan coming into the team to battle against fatigue from the midweek and the Scottish midfielder could start alongside Arne Engels.

In attack, Adam Idah will likely start through the middle with Daizen on the left and Nicolas Kühn on the right.

Predicted XI: Schmeichel; Schlupp, Trusty, CCV, Johnston; McGregor, McCowan, Engels; Maeda, Idah, Kühn.

Referee Details

Steven McLean has been selected as the referee for the game. The 43-year-old is supported by David Roome and Alastair Mather. Meanwhile, on VAR duties at Clydesdale House is Alan Muir and Ross Macleod will assist Muir as AVAR.

McLean took charge of Celtic’s impressive 4-1 win at Hibs’ city rivals back in November. That was an excellent performance by Celtic and one that Brendan will be keen to replicate.

Kick Off Time

The game kicks off at 12:30pm (Celtic Park Time).

Where to Watch

The coverage from Leith will be available on Sky Sports Football and Main Event with coverage starting at 12.

Meanwhile, Celtic TV subscribers outside of Britain & Ireland will be able to watch the game on the club’s streaming platform with Gerry McCulloch and Peter Grant kicking off proceedings at 12:15pm.
