How Leicester can obtain an unlikely result at Man City

Any amount of hope remaining for Leicester fans is hanging on by a thread. The addition of Ruud van Nistelrooy during the season has not had the desired effect. Players currently on the roster will need to be offloaded due to relegation, and many of the LCFC faithful appear eager to see some names leave.

To make matters worse, the current slate of matchups doesn't leave any room for optimism that even a single point will be gained any time soon. The upcoming game against Manchester City is viewed in a similar light. This, however, shouldn't be necessarily dismissed out of hand.

For one, City have something in their newest version of the back five. Although Manchester United were still able to score three against the Foxes, it does appear to be something of a minimal lifeline in terms of conceding as many awful goals.

More importantly, Pep Guardiola's side isn't in tremendous form themselves. The rosters are drastically different in terms of on-paper talent. When adding the latest long international break, a club that was already struggling to string together good games together.

Slight possibility for Leicester

Getting a result at the Etihad under these circumstances wouldn't be entirely out of the ordinary. City, furthermore, will have come off an extra game against Bournemouth in the FA Cup. While that could be seen as a positive in terms of getting back on track with sharpness on the pitch, it is still a quick turnaround for the City opponents on Wednesday.

All of this being said, it will be up to RvN's men to make something of the chances that are likely to be there. Especially going forward, supporting Jaime Vardy enough to threaten the keeper has been a struggle. The supposedly easier game against United proved to be anything but. Maybe their upcoming Premier League match can prove to be the case instead. It will be up to the Leicester players to make the most of any opportunities that fall their way in what should be an open match.
