According to a report from Lewis Steele, Ibrahima Konaté (25) is an injury doubt for Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday. However, it appears that the France international centre-back has not suffered a serious injury.

Hearts were in the mouths of everyone associated with the Merseyside outfit after the former Leipzig defender appeared to suffer a knee injury late on in their match against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Konaté produced a stellar performance on the night against the competition’s holders as his side comfortably cruised home to a 2-0 victory.

Despite finally getting one over the Spanish capital at Anfield, a potential injury to the 25-year-old was a dampener to what was otherwise a perfect night for the Reds. Konaté doesn’t appear to be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines which will boost his teammates knowing they can depend on his availability ahead of the busy festive period in the English top flight.
