Iniesta, Cocu and Marquez to join Barcelona legends for an unmissable Clasico in Mexico | OneFootball

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has revealed that legendary Barcelona players such as Andres Iniesta, Phillip Cocu, and Rafael Marquez will be part of the Barça Legends team in an upcoming Clasico match against Real Madrid Legends in Mexico.

The ongoing tour of the Barça Legends and Real Madrid Legends continues to bring nostalgia to football fans worldwide.

While the official third Clasico of the 2024-25 season is scheduled for March 23 in Puerto Rico, the fourth match of this Legends series is set to take place on April 13 at the Nemesio Diez Stadium in Toluca, Mexico.

Barça Legends are in the lead

The Barça Legends have already established dominance over their Real Madrid counterparts in recent fixtures. On November 28 in Doha, the match ended in a 2-2 draw before Barcelona secured victory via penalties, winning 4-2.

A second encounter in Tokyo on December 15 saw the Blaugrana triumph once again with a 2-1 scoreline.

Additionally, although not officially recognised as part of the series, Barcelona clinched another win in Hong Kong on December 20 with a commanding 5-2 result while donning a special edition kit.

Who will play?

One of the key attractions for the upcoming match in Mexico is the addition of Dutch midfielder Cocu, who will make his first appearance for the Barça Legends.

Former captain Iniesta will also be part of the squad for what will be his second match under coach Albert Ferrer. Other confirmed players include Carles Puyol, Rivaldo, Rafael Márquez, and Javier Saviola.

Additionally, Jesus Angoy, Fernando Navarro, Roberto Trashorras, Sergi Barjuan, Nolito, and Frank de Boer will also take part in the historic fixture.

On the Real Madrid Legends side, fans can expect to see Marcelo, Guti, Iker Casillas, and Luis Figo don the famous white shirt for this prestigious encounter.
