Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr have reportedly joined Inter and Juventus in the race for outgoing Lille star Jonathan David. According to Calciomercato, Stefano Pioli’s men are plotting a January swoop for the Canadian center-forward, looking to hijack his rumored switch to Serie A.

David’s contract at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy runs out at the end of the season. The player has already informed the club of his decision to pursue a new challenge elsewhere, putting Inter and Juventus on high alert.

However, both Italian clubs had hoped to lure David to Serie A on a Bosman deal. Al-Nassr could render those ambitions futile this winter. Indeed, they’re willing to table a €15 million bid to convince Lille to sanction their striker’s departure in the coming weeks.

In addition, Al-Nassr would probably outbid Inter and Juventus’ contract proposals. The Saudis could offer the 24-year-old a lucrative €6m net per season contract. That’s the last thing the Italians would want to hear.

It’s worth noting that Inter’s interest in David has diminished afterthe club set sights on Bologna starlet Santiago Castro. The 20-year-old has emerged as a genuine transfer target for the reigning Scudetto holders as they prepare to sever ties with Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa.

On the other hand, Juventus have identified David as a perfect low-cost solution to add to Thiago Motta’s attacking options. With Arkadiusz Milik still on the sidelines with a long-term injury, Dusan Vlahovic remains the only reliable center-forward at the Allianz Stadium.
