Inter Milan are reportedly hellbent on launching their second team as soon as possible, following in the footsteps of their rivals.

While these squads are common in other European countries, like Spain, it is a relatively new practice in Italian football.

Juventus became the first Serie A club to launch a B-team in 2018. It initially started as Juventus Under-23, but it has been repackaged as Juventus Next Gen.

Atalanta then followed suit, kickstarting their own U23 side last season. This term, AC Milan rode the wave by unveiling Milan Futuro. All three sides participate in Serie C.

This allows the clubs to develop their young talents while giving them experience on the professional level, albeit in the lower divisions.

According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri could become the next Italian club to launch their B-team.

The club is reportedly looking to push the project beyond the preliminary phase.

The young squad will reportedly train at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti, better known as Interello. They will train in the morning on the synthetic pitch, sharing the facility with the other youth teams.

Inter Milan Ready To Launch Second Team Project

Inter are considering the Varesina Stadium in Venegono as a venue for the second team’s matches. The ground has a capacity of 600 stadium spectators.

This stadium is the home of Varesina, an ambitious club linked to Inter’s training network. They are currently pushing for a Serie C promotion, which could be a boost for the Nerazzurri’s plans. This would allow the two clubs to split the stadium’s costs.

Furthermore, Pierro Ausilio’s right-hand man Dario Baccin will likely be the man in charge of the project.

So if any Serie C spots open up for next season, the Italian champions will be looking to jump at the opportunity.
