Inter Milan are set to miss out on the signing of Man City defender Kyle Walker, as he is close to joining AC Milan.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it. They report that the Rossoneri and the English international already have an agreement on the transfer.
Defender Kyle Walker now looks set to leave Manchester City after seven and a half seasons.
The Englishman joined the Cityzens from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017.
Walker has been a key player for City throughout his time at the club.
However, this season his form has dropped off along with the team’s as a whole. Therefore, he has decided to seek a new challenge.
Walker has decided to seek a transfer to a team outside the Premier League.
Inter had reportedly been among the teams to consider a move for the 34-year-old.
However, it is instead the Nerazzurri’s city rivals Milan who are close to completing a deal for Walker.
The Rossoneri had been considering a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
However, regulations would not permit Milan to sign both Rashford and Walker.
In the end, Rashford’s wages made a move untenable. Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Milan are close to signing Walker.
