Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella is excited for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, and believes Inter can lift the trophy.

The Italian international spoke to DAZN, via FCInter1908. He hailed the news experience with “different cultures” at the expanded competition.

Inter Milan will be participating in the Club World Cup this summer.

The Nerazzurri are one of two Italian clubs to qualify for the tournament, along with Juventus.

And this edition of the Club World Cup will be a very different kind of competition for every team participating.

First of all, there is the fact that the tournament takes place in the summer. That means that it is at the end of the European club season, rather than midway through it.

Moreover, the expansion of the tournament’s format means that there are far more clubs in it.

That means that there is not just one entrant representing every single federation. Far, far from it in fact.

“It’s something new for me. Because I’ve never played in a Club World Cup before.”

“Particularly since this will be the first time with the new format,” Barella noted.

“So it will definitely be a brilliant experience.”

“This will also be one of my first times seeing America,” the 28-year-old noted. “Because I’ve only been there on a team retreat for a few days.”

“So it will be a beautiful experience for me. New experiences are always special.”

“It will be beautiful for us because we can see different cultures,” Nicolo Barella added.

“It will be nice to see what the emotions are like for fans supporting their teams from other continents.”

Barella also noted that “I’ve never played in a World Cup.”

“So I’ll be starting with the Club World Cup. For me, this is definitely a great feeling, and I’ll enjoy it to the fullest.”
