Inzaghi Rues ‘We Can’t End The First Half 0-0 With Those Chances’ After Juventus 1-0 Inter Milan Serie A Loss

Simone Inzaghi feels that yesterday’s loss to Juventus “couldn’t have ended 0-0 in the first half” after the chances Inter Milan created.
The Nerazzurri coach spoke to InterTV after the match, via FCInterNews. He rued his side’s wasteful finishing in the first half.
Inter Milan slumped to defeat in the Derby d’Italia against Juventus yesterday evening.
And it was a much different sort of match than the first meeting this season between the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri.
That had been a wild 4-4 draw. This time around, a single goal was enough to do it for Juventus – much more in keeping with a typical scoreline in the Derby d’Italia.
But it was not necessarily as cagey a match as the scoreline would suggest.
Particularly in the first half, things were end-to-end at times. And Inter certainly had their share of chances.
Meanwhile, while Inter were chasing the game after Juventus scored in the second half there were also a few passable opportunities in front of goal.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi commented that “We were lacking the goal.”
“I have nothing to blame the guys for,” he continued. “We played a great match, but we had to take the lead in the first half or else the match becomes difficult.”

“In the second half, we didn’t approach it well. And then we conceded a goal.”
Inzaghi said that “We need to work harder.”
“But we shouldn’t be making big proclamation, even if this slows us down.”
As far as the Serie A title race after yesterday’s result, Inter coach Inzaghi said that “I don’t look at what’s happening to the other team.”
“I focus on my own team,” he went on. “And with a performance like the one in Turin, we deserved more from it.”
“We needed to be more clinical in front of goal,” the Nerazzurri coach admitted. “With those chances we had, the first half can’t end 0-0.”
