Abdukodir Khusanov will add another option for Pep Guardiola to utilise in defence. City’s defence has been ravaged by injuries this season. The hope is that the young centre-back can bring the strong form he has displayed at Lens this season to City’s defence. Omar Marmoush will add a different dimension to City’s attack. He showed that yesterday, and the quicker Manchester City can bring him in, the better. All indications are that a deal between City and Eintracht Frankfurt isn’t far away for the Egyptian international.

It is also expected that Khusanov and Marmoush won’t be the only signings City make this month. But to get the first signings done will be a positive for the world champions.
