Inter Milan will certainly not be unhappy with the result from the first leg of their Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.

The Nerazzurri came into the match as underdogs in the eyes of many.

However, that is something that Inter have become very much used to.

And it did not stop Inter from going toe-to-toe with the Blaugranas.

Inter had a 2-0 lead within twenty minutes. However, they could not hold onto that, as the likes of Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres hauled Barcelona level.

The Nerazzurri took the lead again. However, once again Barcelona got back into it.

Inter then thought that they had taken the lead for a third time. However, Henrikh Mkhitaryan proved to be marginally offside before he stuck the ball into the Barcelona net for a fourth time.

Inter will not have to wait long for the second leg of their tie against Barcelona.

On Tuesday, the Nerazzurri host the Catalan giants at the San Siro.

And the fact that Inter will be playing in front of their own fans can certainly give them an extra injection of confidence. On top of what they’ll already be feeling after the first leg in Barcelona.

Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni described the first leg as “a night of noise, chaos, and courage.”

“Now,” added the Italian international, “we have everything to play for at our home.”
