Manchester United Ruben Amorim dedicates the victory over Fulham to the club’s supporters who certainly left a great impression on him.
The Red Devils entered the contest at Craven Cottage in a miserable 14th place in the Premier League table, but you wouldn’t know it by the astonishing support the players and their manager received from the away end throughout the contest.
While this was a relatively uneventful affair overall, the Red Army made their voices heard in West London, and even Amorim had his name chanted.
Fulham may have created a few more chances than United, but Lisandro Martinez gave the Reds the lead with their first shot on target thanks to a deflected effort in the 78th minute which was just enough to seal all three points, also tanks to Toby Collyer’s heroic clearance.

After the contest, Amorim admitted his men had luck in their favour, while admitting they still have much improvement to do.
“We need to improve a lot with the ball, without the ball we were ok and controlled the game. We scored and now we move on to the next game,” said the 39-year-old in his post-match interview with TNT Sports (via Sky Sports).
“I think so. Even in the second half, we wanted to change something, we lack some pace and power up front. But it is what it is. We need to have ball creators, more chances. We struggle a lot in these details. But winning helps a lot to improve.
“The result, the feeling, the way we gave time to our team to have a bit of luck to win games. Let’s take the feeling, work really hard tomorrow. We have to win the next one.
“We have to be cautious. Even the rules here, we have to follow the rules. We did mistakes in the past, we can’t do it now. We are focused on improving the team, let’s see. Let’s focus on the players we have and focus on the next game.”
On another note, Amorim was grateful for the travelling supporters who created a surreal atmosphere.
“The fans deserve it. It’s amazing. It’s not normal. I know you guys are used to this environment, but it’s not normal.
“Congratulations to our fans. It’s a big privilege to work for this club and give them wins. We want to give them wins, today we did it. But we need to improve a lot and we are going to do that.”
