The Hammers played out a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa last weekend, creating a 10-point gap with the relegation zone.

Jacob Ramsey delivered the hosts an early breakthrough, but West Ham struck back in the second-half through Emerson Palmieri to earn a share in the spoils.

The Irons will be looking to build on that performance by securing a good result against Chelsea on Monday night.

Potter’s former team will likely be low on confidence following the 3-1 loss to Manchester City last Saturday.

Alphonse Areola will continue in goal after an impressive outing last time.

But in front of the 31-year-old, we are expecting a change. Konstantinos Mavropanos is available for selection after serving his suspension in the previous game.

Aaron Cresswell should make way for the Greece international to join Max Kilman and Vladimir Coufal in the backline.

Meanwhile, the midfield partnership of Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez is working well, and so the duo will retain their first-team berths against Chelsea. The same is true for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Emerson Palmieri, who were brilliant in their wing-back roles last time.

Lucas Paqueta spearheaded the attack in the draw against Villa, and the Brazilian absolutely stole the show as a makeshift striker.

But Jarrod Bowen, who has been described as “really intelligent” by former Hammers boss David Moyes, is likely to return and so he will be operating as a centre-forward in Monday’s game.
