JOEY SAPUTO AND BOLOGNA FC RECEIVE THE BOLOGNA AMBASSADOR AWARD | OneFootball

In the evocative setting of the Farnese Chapel in Palazzo d’Accursio, today the Bologna Ambassador prize ceremony took place. It is an annual event that celebrates strandout figures in different sectors including, academia, medicine, science, business, sport, insitutions and also promoting the City of Bologna at a national and international level.

One of the standout people in this year’s edition was Joey Saputo, who was given a prestigious award for his role as Bologna FC 1909 President in helping the time to achieve a historical ChampionsLeague qualification, an event that turned attention to the city, beyond the borders of football.

The official reasoning stated: “The effort and the extraordinary results achieved by Bologna FC 1909 in their Champions League qualification meaningfully contributed in strengthening the image and the attractiveness of our city”.

The Bologna Ambassador Award, given out by the Municipality of Bologna and the Bologna Convention Bureau, recognises professionals who bring major events to the city, promoting scientific, cultural and economic development, raising Bologna’s prestige and identity in the World.

With this prize, Joey Saputo became part of a top-class network representing the dynamic, international and ambitious character of contemporary Bologna.
