Massimo Moratti feels that Simone Inzaghi has joined Jose Mourinho and Helenio Herrera in the pantheon of legendary Inter Milan coaches.
The legendary former Nerazzurri President spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.
Simone Inzaghi has been Inter Milan’s coach since the summer of 2021.
There have certainly been ups and downs during the former Lazio boss’s time in charge of the club.
However, the trend has certainly been positive overall.
This season, Inter are in the Champions League final. It is the second time in the space of three seasons that the Nerazzurri have reached this far in Europe.
Meanwhile, Inter have won the Serie A title under Inzaghi. They’ve also finished second and third in the league table – and are hoping for a title this time around.
Furthermore, Inter have also won five other pieces of domestic silverware since Inzaghi took over.

Simone Inzaghi has yet to win the Champions League with Inter, although this season he has a massive chance to write one of the most important pages in the club’s history.
Even just reaching the final of the competition is a massive achievement on its own, however.
There are only three coaches to have ever guided Inter to a European Cup or Champions League final.
These are Jose Mourinho, Giovanni Invernizzi, and Helenio Herrera.
Of this trio, only Mourinho and Herrera have actually won the final with Inter.
Asked if a win against Paris Saint-Germain in Munich at the end of this month would put Inzaghi in that pantheon, Moratti replied that “for me he’s already there.”
“First of all, he’s already been at Inter for a few years,” the former President noted.
“He’s already won important trophies.”
“And now he’s in the Champions League final for the second time,” Morattti went on. “He’s already written a huge chapter in the club’s history, he’s a true great.”
