Today we are looking at Leicester City troubles. But the subject is probably not what you think - unless you think outside the box like Esteban Cambiasso! It's not goals conceded. We aren't examining the generally poor results of the season. Nor the Foxes' unbelievable and unstimulating transfer windows of the last few years either. No, we are talking cards.
And that's not Valentine's Day cards by the way. The focus of today's piece is the King Power outfit's discipline over the course of the campaign. Leicester's conduct has not been too bad this season; as you'll learn, they've had good elements and bad elements. You can actually read into some of the data that has emerged from our City dive.
There are multiple aspects to discuss with this one. And, as always, we will offer our views on every matter at hand. So, which LCFC star has received the most yellow and red cards this term? Have the east Midlanders even had anyone sent off in 2024/25? And, finally, how do the amount of bookings Ruud van Nistelrooy's men have been given compare to other Premier League sides?
First of all, Leicester were not handed any cautions or dismissals during their FA Cup run this year. That's all of two games.
Secondly, the Foxes were only given three yellow cards whilst competing in the League Cup. Italian defender Caleb Okoli was on the receiving end of a couple. While Facundo Buonanotte was shown the other.
In the English top flight, Buonanotte has proven himself feisty. The Argentine attacker's been booked six times. Jannik Vestergaard and Jordan Ayew are just behind with five each.
No reds were shown throughout play. Yet LCFC are fifth for most bookings. I believe this shows dedication, in spite of a lack of quality.
