RB Leipzig have identified Mainz head coach Bo Henriksen as a candidate to take over at the club this summer, according to Sky Germany.
Marco Rose was dismissed last month and replaced on an interim basis by Zsolt Löw, who is set to see out the season while the club search for a long-term replacement.
Henriksen has reportedly impressed Leipzig’s hierarchy with his results at Mainz. Since his appointment, the Danish coach has lifted the team from the brink of relegation to the race for European qualification.
Despite signing a contract extension with Mainz until 2027 as recently as January, Henriksen is now being linked with a potential move away in the summer.
Ironically, Leipzig leapfrogged Mainz into fourth place at the weekend. Die Roten Bullen edged Wolfsburg 3-2, while Henriksen’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Hoffenheim.
He is not the only name under consideration. Other coaches linked with the Leipzig job include Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace), Roger Schmidt (currently unattached), Danny Röhl (Sheffield Wednesday), and Cesc Fàbregas (Como).
