A Darwin Nunez rocket put the game to bed before half-time
Liverpool have returned to the top of the Premier League after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bournemouth.
Two goals from Luis Diaz and a third from Darwin Nunez gave the Reds a three-goal lead going into the break at Anfield.
And after losing to Nottingham Forest last time out Arne Slot’s side have got their league form back on track.
Bournemouth started the brighter of the two teams and nearly went ahead when Antonio Semenya latched on to Justin Kluivert’s cross to put the ball in the net.
However, VAR called the goal offside with Semenya making his run slightly too early.
Liverpool grew into the half with more possession and went ahead when Diaz made Kepa pay for rushing out of his goal wildly.
Ibrahima Konte played a long ball upfield which Diaz controlled, passing the Bournemouth goalkeeper to score a simple finish.
Just minutes later Diaz doubled Liverpool’s lead with a stunning breakaway goal.
Trent Alexander-Arnold ran unchecked into the Cherries box and picked out the Colombian who fired home.
Darwin Nunez then added a third to end a personal drought of five months without a goal for the Reds.
Nunez linked up well with Mohammed Salah after another downfield ball from Konate, before cutting inside to fire a curling effort past Kepa.
