Well, something painful like this has been in the pipeline for a while…
Lewis Hall’s move to Newcastle from Chelsea was deeply unpopular with fans, who had seen his exceptional talent and wanted him to be given more chances, not sold on. It’s been painful enough watching him thrive for the Magpies, but it’s about to get a whole lot worse.
Today, CaughtOffside are claiming that Liverpool are preparing to target the Blues academy product this summer as their long term successor to Andy Robertson, who has finally seemingly hit the wall and come to the end of his time at Anfield.
The 20 year old is already valued at £60m, and if Newcastle fail to qualify for the Champions League, the Reds could come calling. It would be a difficult decision for Magpies fan Hall, but with Liverpool seemingly on the verge of a really successful period, it would be a difficult option to turn down. Manchester City are also reportedly interested in the England left back, who looks set to pick up a lot more caps under Thomas Tuchel.
Imagine that, the two best teams in the land keen on a player Chelsea sold not long ago, who could have predicted that…

Much like when we sold Tino Livramento to Southampton, only to watch him get snapped up by Newcastle not long afterwards for a far bigger fee, that Cobham cream always rises to the top of the league, and it seems that it will soon be Hall lifting trophies while Chelsea struggle to find a top class left back to back up Marc Cucurella.
We wonder which academy stars we will sell this summer in order to afford the new Joao Felix?
