The Reds enter the international break with a fresh injury concern
Liverpool head into the international break with a fresh injury worry.
While the likes of Alisson Becker and Harvey Elliott are closing in on returns after the international break, both Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa are still a few further weeks away from being available.
And now Arne Slot will be sweating over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s fitness after the right-back was forced off against Aston Villa.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Liverpool injuries…

Alexander-Arnold lasted less than half an hour against Aston Villa on Saturday night. It was immediately unclear the type of injury the defender picked up, but the player appeared to be clutching his hamstring.
After receiving treatment on the pitch for a few minutes, it was decided that Alexander-Arnold would not continue and he was replaced by Conor Bradley.
“It's difficult to say how serious it is,” Slot said after the game. “But it's always serious when a player goes off in the first half. It's not a good sign, but it's so difficult after the game to tell you what it is.”
Alexander-Arnold is in Lee Carsley's England squad for the upcoming Nations League games, and is now considered likely to withdraw. Slot added: “I would be surprised to see him playing for the England national team.”
Potential return date: Unknown
Jota continues to be sidelined with a stomach injury picked up against Chelsea last month. It had been hoped he would be fit immediately after the international break, but late November or even December is the revised return timeline.
"The first weeks after the international break, we expect him back. I always say in Holland there is privacy about [what the injury is] and I don't know how it is over here, but like I said he will be back one or two weeks after the international break."

Summer signing Federico Chiesa has endured a fairly miserable start to life at Liverpool with injuries and setbacks restricting him to just 77 minutes of action.
Speaking at the end of October, Slot said of Chiesa: “Sometimes he’s there with us, trains a few days, and then goes out for injury again.
“I don’t want to put days or weeks on it, because I think we just have to make sure he gets in the best possible shape. I don’t want to put any pressure on him by coming up with dates.”
Slot added last week: “Chiesa is not back before the international break, but there is only a week to go. We are hoping he can do things again during the international break and that he can join us afterwards.”
Potential return date: Late November/early December

Harvey Elliott has played only once this season after suffering a fractured foot while playing for the England U21s in September.
The 21-year-old had hoped to return in October but will also be out until after the international break in November.

Alisson Becker has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the win over Crystal Palace in October and faces a few more weeks out.
"He's progressing well," Slot said in October. "Like we expected, but it is not a short-term recovery, so it is always difficult to judge. The best way to judge an injury is at the end of an injury, in that phase of the rehab.”
"And he is not there yet. I can't tell you how long he will be out but don't expect him to be [back before international break.]"
