Liverpool make major kit decision that fans will love | OneFootball

Liverpool have dropped the price of the new 2024/25 home kit for a short period to allow fans to buy the shirt for a lower price than any of their Premier League rivals.

Football kit makers have faced criticism this year for the rising cost of buying the shirts after England's Euro 2024 shirt by Nike was priced at £85 for an adult shirt and over £120 for an 'authentic' shirt as worn by the players. Nike, who also manufacture Liverpool's new kit, priced it at £80 for an adult when it went on sale this summer.

Premier League rivals Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle have all priced kits over £80 for adults and £55 for children, putting them out of the financial reach of many fans.

However, Liverpool have become the first club to drop the price of the shirt temporarily to make it more affordable for fans. The club has cut the price of the shirt by 20% for a short time only, making an adult home shirt just £68 - one of the cheapest top flight shirts available for the 2024/25 season.

Fans have until midnight on Sunday 22 September to order the shirt for £68 for an adult or £51 for a child here. The offer is also available on infants size kits for the duration of the sale. The 'authentic' shirt, as worn by the players, is also reduced to just over £100 for the next few hours. You can see the discounts here.

The discounts also apply to a number of training kits, souvenirs including mugs, and signed shirts from club legends including Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher.

The deal is the first time a top Premier League club has dropped the price of the shirt this season and helps fans buy official club shirts at a cheaper price at the beginning of the Premier League season.

The current Nike shirt, which features a YNWA-inspired yellow pinstripe pattern, yellow highlights and Nike's unusual overlapping collar, is the last home shirt to be sold under the current Nike deal. Liverpool are rumoured to be reuniting with Adidas from next season in a new kit supplier deal that will see the German brand bring the famous three stripes back to Anfield after decades of popular shirts designed by the brand in the 1980s and 1990s.

The deal has not yet been officially announced but is likely to see a new Adidas kit launched next summer to replace the Nike home shirt of 2024/25.
