Liverpool sign Chelsea midfielder Bartel on loan | OneFootball

Liverpool have completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Júlia Bartel on a loan deal until the end of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this afternoon.

The 20-year-old joined Chelsea from Spanish giants FC Barcelona last summer, however, she is still awaiting her debut for The Blues. The Spanish Under-23 international arrived in South West London with bags of potential having graduated from Barcelona’s B team into their first team squad. Bartel needs regular minutes to grow into the English game and she will now get that with Liverpool in the second half of the season.

After joining The Reds, Bartel said “I’m very happy to be here in Liverpool in a big club and I’m looking forward to starting.

“I think Liverpool is one of the big teams in this league and I think the style of play of this club can be great for me and I’m so excited to start the season here.

“It’s been a change in my career in a new country but I’m happy here, it’s a new league, a different league from Spain and I think I’m adapting here.”

Bartel is Liverpool’s second signing of the January transfer window.
