Liverpool have secured Scottish international Sam Kerr on loan from Frauen-Bundesliga side Bayern Munich for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
The 25-year-old makes the move to Merseyside after struggling to break into Alexander Straus's Bayern team this season, having made just two starts so far.
The midfielder will be a strong addition to Matt Beard's side, who received criticism for their lacklustre efforts in the summer transfer window prior to start of the 2024/25 Women's Super League (WSL) season. The Reds, who currently occupy eighth position in the league standings, have struggled to maintain the momentum of their fourth-place finish last season.
Kerr has made 30 appearances for Scotland on the international stage, and was crowned Women's Player of the Year for the 2022 season. She was also voted into the PFA Scotland Team of the Year in both the 2021/22 and 2022/23 campaigns.
Kerr is no stranger to silverware, having lifted six league titles during her career so far. She secured the Scottish Women's Premier League title with Glasgow City in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, before winning it again with Rangers in 2022.
"We made the decision together with Sam that it's important for her ongoing development to get more game time," expressed Bayern Munich director of women's football Bianca Rech. "In Liverpool we've found a club that suits Sam perfectly in terms of culture and language."
