Former Roma man and current Lazio player Luca Pellegrini compared the experience of playing for both sides in the Derby della Capitale.

In a lengthy interview with Il Tempo, Pellegrini did not hesitate in giving Lazio the edge over Roma.

“I have experienced it on both sides and I have experienced it even before when I wasn’t even playing,” said the Italian fullback.

“Without wanting to take anything away from the other side, experiencing it with this shirt is a totally different thing on an emotional level.”

“Before and during the match there is this air of tension, then you release all the adrenaline that had built up during the week. I go against the grain and say not to burden the youngsters too much and to experience it with a bit more lightheartedness, also for the group that we are now.”

“Up until now this has been our strength. Then the coach will be even better than me at preparing it.”
