City are already making moves ahead of the summer transfer window opening
Manchester City are reportedly making big moves in an attempt to overhaul their squad this summer.
Due to their participation in the new format of the Club World Cup, Man City will be able to sign and officially register any new signing when the first of two Premier League summer transfer windows open on June 1, and then closes on June 10.
The window then reopens on June 16, three days before City are in action against Moroccan side Wydad AC.
Whether Pep Guardiola will be able hand out any debuts remains to be seen but reports suggest the club are going all out to bolster the Spaniard’s squad, particularly the midfield department.
Firstly, on Tuesday it was revealed by The Athletic that City have approached AC Milan over the signing of Tijjani Reijnders.
The report also states City’s pursuit Reijnders is independent of interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz as the plan is to recruit a number eight and at least one number 10 in the summer to cope with the departure of Kevin De Bruyne.
Speaking of Wirtz, German publication Bild have claimed the 22-year-old’s and his parents flew to Manchester for a meeting with Guardiola on Tuesday.
Meanwhile in terms of Man City outgoings, according to the Daily Mail, Maximo Perrone - who has made one Premier League appearance for the club - is set to turn his loan move at Como into a permanent one in a deal worth £25m.
