Paris Saint-Germain has been strengthening its ties with Portugal through sporting advisor Luis Campos, signing players like Vitinha, João Neves, and Gonçalo Ramos.
But when the summer transfer window opens, Manchester United will aim to beat PSG to a young talent they’ve both been eyeing.
PSG, along with Manchester City and Manchester United, are closely monitoring 17-year-old Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon, according to a previous Foot Mercato report.
United’s interest is particularly noteworthy, as their manager, Rúben Amorim, previously managed Sporting. The Athletic recently reported that United plans to make a move for Quenda this summer, with Amorim eager to reunite with the promising youngster.
The teenager is expected to cost around €40 million (£33.4 million).

The latest on the Quenda situation comes from reporter Ben Jacobs, who says Manchester United is making progress in their efforts to bring the Portuguese sensation to Old Trafford. What’s more, the teenager is open to the move.
“Yeah, I think the player is certainly keen on a move to Manchester United, and talks are progressing to see whether something can be pre-agreed ahead of the summer,” Jacobs told GIVE ME SPORT.
Still, Sporting are asking for £17 million more than the £33 million Man Utd thinks Quenda is worth, setting their price at £50 million.
“Manchester United’s valuation is below that of Sporting’s,” Jacobs added. “They feel that the player is worth in the region of €40 million (£33m), whereas Sporting’s perspective is the number that he should be sold for is closer to the 60 million mark (£50m). So that gulf in valuation is something that all parties are going to have to work on.”
