The future of Marcus Rashford will likely be determined this 2024-25 season with Ruben Amorim taking over the Manchester United job. Nonetheless, one pundit wonders whether the 27-year-old should leave Old Trafford to salvage the prime years of his career.

Last month, TEAMTalk reported that Paris Saint-Germain have renewed its interest in Rashford. While the challenges that blocked a summer move still exist, the Ligue 1 club may try again to sign him next year.

Rashford will be working under a new manager, Amorim, who took over at Manchester United after the FIFA international break. TEAMTalk notes that Rashford is optimistic about Amorim’s arrival, viewing it as a fresh opportunity to regain his form.

On Wednesday, talkSPORT’s Ally McCoist and Troy Deeney discussed Rashford’s future with a new manager now in the fold. Furthermore, McCoist notes that a change of scenery could be what the player needs.

“I’m not a United fan, but I’m at my witz end,” McCoist said. “We know the talent he’s got, but he’s not playing anywhere near his potential. He’s not playing with a smile on his face. And I’m wondering to myself, ‘Does he need a fresh challenge?'”

Deeney responded, hinting that a fresh start somewhere could allow Rashford to play up to the level many expect from him because it’s currently not happening at Manchester United.

“We’re still talking about talent and potential,” Deeney said. “He should be his peak. He should be flying and we should be going, ‘That’s his team.’ And at the moment, not at the moment, for a little while now, let’s be honest, he hasn’t delivered to the standard that we know he can.”
