Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte picked up minor injuries during the FA Cup game against Fulham on Sunday and were absent in training today.

According to BBC journalist Simon Stone, they are unlikely to be involved when the Red Devils visit Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday.

Ugarte played for 53 minutes against Fulham at Old Trafford before he was taken off, while Maguire played until the 91st minute before Ayden Heaven replaced him.

Man United will be desperate to progress to the Europa League quarter-finals as they want to win the competition.

However, being without two of their most important players in the first-leg of the last-16 fixture could be a huge blow.

Sociedad are tricky to beat at home, and the Red Devils must be on top of their game if they want to leave Spain with a good result ahead of the return leg.

Man United have not lost in Europe this term despite facing some decent teams, but the La Liga club will pose a stern test.

Winning the Europa League is their only realistic chance of playing in the Champions League next season, and a win tomorrow night will be perfect for their morale.

They will need to get a result in Spain and do so without Ugarte and Maguire, and other players in their position will have to step up when given the rare opportunity to impress.
