Transfer bosses at Manchester City face intense competition from other clubs within the Premier League for Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, according to reports.
Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff have not had a traditional left-back within their squad since the departure of Benjamin Mendy following the expiry of his contract, but have enjoyed huge success with their existing options.
Nathan Ake’s move from Bournemouth is viewed as a reflection of Manchester City’s fine recruitment of players able to operate in multiple positions, with the Dutchman also starring in the centre of the club’s defence in contests.
City also moved to ensure that they won the race for Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig despite interest from Real Madrid, with the Croatian widely viewed as the best left-back in European football at present.
But Manchester City officials remain attentive to other options within the game as they look to remain at the very forefront of English and European football, with the latest talent coming to their attentions from within the Premier League.
According to the information of GIVEMESPORT, Manchester City are ‘beginning to show interest’ in Fulham’s Antonee Robinson despite potential competition from the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea in the coming months.
Given the importance of Robinson to Marco Silva’s side, the report claims that Fulham value the defender in the region of £40 million and while the club have also made it clear that he will not be available when the transfer window reopens in January.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been consistently linked with Antonee Robinson since the summer transfer window of 2021, but have remained committed to their existing options including the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabian Delph in previous campaigns.
Manchester City’s youth academy continues to develop its own starring names, but left-back has often been a position that has failed to have its impact on the first-team squad, despite some success seen by Joshua Wilson-Esbrand.
Callum Doyle may return from his latest loan adventure at Norwich City following enormous success at Leicester City, Coventry City, and Sunderland to make a senior career at the Etihad Stadium from next season.
