Aston Villa are preparing to host Liverpool at home in the Premier League this midweek. The former side had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town in their recent most game despite the opponents being reduced to 10 men at one stage.

The Villans will be desperate to do better as they look to seal a spot in the top four. This game will also be important for them as the outcome of this fixture will somewhere set the template for their next clash against Chelsea.

Defence

Emi Martinez will be playing at the goal line for the Villans and needs to play a fantastic game to yield a positive result for his side. Andres Garcia has been impressive and could get another start as the right-back in the lineup.

While Axel Disasi continues at the heart of the defence, Boubacar Kamara is unavailable after picking up an injury. To fill his role, Tyrone Mings is the front-runner, who has recovered completely from a knee concern. Left-back Lucas Digne gets retained for the starting position.

Midfield

Youri Tielemans and John McGinn are likely to be deployed in the middle of the part yet again. They will have to work hard to control the tempo of the game and disrupt the opponent’s flow.

Attack

While Jacob Ramsey continues to operate on the right flank, Morgan Rogers is playing as the attacking midfielder once again. However, Marcus Rashford could get the nod ahead of Donyell Malen for the other flank role.

Ollie Watkins remains the first-choice striker and leads the attacking pack yet again.
