The Whites, who had already won promotion to the Premier League, sealed the Championship title in dramatic fashion on Saturday at Plymouth, as a late Manor Solomon goal ensured they finished above Burnley on goal difference.

That sparked wild scenes in the away end, and the party atmosphere continued over the Bank Holiday weekend, with a parade arranged for Monday.

It has been claimed that 150,000 fans lined the streets of Leeds to greet the players as they made their way around the city on an open top bus.

And, whilst the entire group were clearly enjoying the moment, Ampadu appeared to be front and centre to most things that went on.

That didn’t go unnoticed by Klich, who took to his Instagram story to praise the Leeds skipper, as shared by @LUFCArchive on X.

As well as sharing the Welsh international striking a funny pose, Klich tagged Ampadu and commented that he had been ‘man of the match today’.

Leeds United deserve this moment after outstanding season

Ampadu certainly looked as though he enjoyed himself yesterday, but it was thoroughly deserved, as he and his teammates have been brilliant in this campaign.

There is always pressure that comes with playing for Leeds in the Championship, and that increased significantly given how they lost the play-off final 12 months ago.

Yet, the players embraced that, with Ampadu leading them, and it was fitting that a late goal meant they won the title.

The celebrations around the city were great for all connected to the club, and the fans will love that Klich, now at Atlanta United, is still interested in everything going on at Elland Road.

It’s a shame for the Polish international and his teammates that they were denied a parade of their own when they won the league under Marcelo Bielsa in 2020.

Klich was loved by Leeds fans not just for his ability on the pitch, but also for the way he wound the opposition up, with one example coming when he performed a binocular celebration after the team had beaten Derby back in 2019, referencing ‘Spygate’.

So, he would’ve surely been prominent in the celebrations had a parade taken place back then, but Kliich is still clearly delighted that Leeds are back in the top-flight, even if he is now watching on from afar.
