El Trí face Canada in the semifinal of the CONCACAF Nations League this month against Canada. The winner will meet either the United States or Panama in the final.
In the squad, Aguirre has called up some noticeable names like Rodrigo Huescas who left Cruz Azul last summer to join FC Copenhagen. Much loved, the fans have taken to the right back exceptionally as the 21-year-old has played a role in the side reaching the UEFA Nations League round of 16.
Mexico's midfielder features some familiar names as Charles Rodríguez and Luis Romo keep their places in the team as does AEK Athens' Orebllín Pineda and Dinamo Moscow's Luis Chávez. The quadruple will join national team captain and West Ham United midfielder Edson Álvarez.
Aguirre opted for experience over youth with the likes of Marcel Ruiz of Toluca and Pachuca's Elias Montiel missing out on a spot despite their impressive starts to the year.
In attack, El Trí will have Raúl Jiménez and Santiago Giménez as options, with both strikers in fine form for their European clubs in 2025. Jiménez has netted ten times for Fulham as they push for a top-half finish in the Premier League, while Giménez, who joined AC Milan from Feyenoord in January, has scored twice in his first six appearances in Italy.
The attacking lineup notably lacks Henry Martín, who has managed just one goal in seven appearances for Club América in the Clausura.
Martín's absence makes room for Alexis Vega, who is coming off a second-half hat-trick for Toluca against Necaxa over the weekend, while César Huerta returns to the squad for the first time since his move from Pumas to Belgian giants Anderlecht.
