Setback for the Milan Futuro. After the good performance in Ferrara came a misstep at home against Lucchese: 0-2 at the Stadio Chinetti in Solbiate Arno. It was a delicate and important fixture between direct rivals at the bottom of the standings, a golden opportunity to move on up, but instead the Rossoneri were surprised by the obstinacy of their opponent, bagging both goals in the first half (Tumbarello and Saporiti) and closing out the game without a goal of their own. It was a bad afternoon, a lackluster performance, complicating proceedings for Coach Bonera's side in an ever-tougher league.

The Diavolo didn’t start badly but went on to concede and suffer under the Tuscan side’s pressure. Too little ruthlessness at times and a lack of the necessary conviction in general to get the better of things or even try to come back; even in the second half, it was Lucchese who created more solid chances, apart from Magrassi who hit the post. Following matchday 26 of Serie C (Group B), the Rossoneri remain on 22 points, 18th in the table, as the safe zone slips out of their sights. Next weekend, on Saturday 15 February at 15:00 CET, they will face Pianese away.

MATCH REPORT After the first attempt from Magnaghi, Magrassi wasted a good chance in the 3rd minute: served by D'Alessio, he shot wide. In the 8th minute, Quirini headed too high. In the 17th minute, Visconti had a go from distance, blocked by Nava. Tumbarello gave Lucchese the lead in the 28th minute: Catanese to the captain whose shot was deflected into the net. No time to regroup and the Tuscans doubled the lead through Saporiti in the 35th minute, doing well to pick up a loose ball and slot it into the net, assisted by Gemignani. A moment of worry in the 39th minute as Gucher almost hit home.

Milan were out on the offensive from the start of the second half, thanks in part to the changes: Sia was blocked in the 47th minute and Omoregbe shot high in the 50th. In the 55th minute, Magrassi went for it alone on the edge of the box, smacking the woodwork. At maximum momentum, it took a miracle from Nava in the 64th minute to deny Magnaghi from the middle of the box following Coubis’ miss. The Rossoneri attacked to no avail, Nava proved again decisive in the 79th minute, sending out Saporiti’s low shot. Magrassi had a go with his head in the 83rd minute. In the 86th minute, Selvini tried one, no dice. The final moments saw a run from Omoregbe but not much else. Final whistle.
