Aleksandr Golovin (28) will miss AS Monaco’s match against Le Havre AC this Saturday, Adi Hütter confirmed in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.

Golovin has struggled with injuries since arriving at the Principality club back in 2018. However, those injuries had abated in recent seasons. Having missed several matches with an adductor injury this season, those injury issues have now returned. Hütter has confirmed the latest blow for the Russian international.

The Monaco manager revealed that Golovin struggled with adductor pain on Tuesday and as a result, he has not trained since. He will not make the trip to face Le Havre on Saturday with the Austrian saying that the “risk is too high”. The playmaker was perhaps unlikely to start with Hütter set on a 4-4-2 in recent weeks. In that formation, it has been Takumi Minamino who has been favoured on the left and Maghnes Akliouche on the right.

Hütter did not specify how long Golovin will be out for. Monaco play AS Saint-Étienne next weekend before hosting Olympique Lyonnais a week later. Les Monégasques conclude their campaign with a trip to RC Lens.
