Newcastle vs Ipswich Town – Predicted lineup and team news

The Football Faithful
·26 avril 2025
Newcastle United host Ipswich Town in the Premier League as the club’s chase for Champions League football continues.
The Magpies will climb from fifth to third with a win at St James’ Park, with top-five rivals Nottingham Forest and Manchester City in FA Cup action this weekend.
Newcastle have this week been boosted by the return of Eddie Howe. The Newcastle manager has missed the last three league fixtures after being hospitalised with pneumonia.
Newcastle host an Ipswich team whose all-but-confirmed relegation could be finalised this afternoon. Ipswich must win all of their remaining fixtures and hope West Ham fail to pick up a point to stand any chance of survival.
Fabian Schar should be fit to feature despite sustaining a hamstring injury last weekend. The Switzerland centre-back was withdrawn in the latter stages of the defeat at Aston Villa but is in line to feature.
Schar’s likely availability is a big boost to Newcastle who are lacking depth at centre-back. Fellow defenders Sven Botman and Jamall Lascelles remain sidelined. Swedish defender Emil Krafth will deputise as an auxiliary centre-back if Schar is unable to feature.
Newcastle predicted XI: Pope; Trippier, Schar, Burn, Livramento; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Murphy, Isak, Barnes.
Newcastle host Ipswich in the Premier League on Saturday 26th April 2025. Kick-off at St James’ Park is 15:00 BST.
The game has not been selected for live TV coverage in the UK.
