Several fringe players in the FC Barcelona squad were linked with a move away from the Catalan club in the last winter transfer window as the Blaugranes needed to sell to be able to generate the required funds and salary space for a new offensive signing.
In this context, one of the players who could have ended up leaving Barcelona was the midfielder Pablo Torre, who received an offer in the last hours of the market from Porto, as the Portuguese club wanted him to replace Nico Gonzalez in their squad.
However, the Spaniard decided to stay at the Blaugrana club, with hopes that he would be able to improve his position in the team.
But, as SPORT has noted, the last game against Valencia was a harsh return to reality for the midfielder, as he once again went without having any minutes despite his team being 5-0 up by the 59th minute.
With such a lead over their opponents, Flick decided to bring on Inigo Martinez and Gerard Martin at half-time. Later, Dani Olmo and Marc Casado made their way to the pitch, while Hector Fort was the last player to be subbed on in this game.
The last time Torre stepped on the pitch was for the La Liga match against Valencia, in which he got 12 minutes, and that too because Gavi gave up his opportunity to get on the pitch to allow his teammate some prominence.
Before that, he played 81 minutes in the Copa del Rey game against Barbastro, and he was the best player in his team in that match. But his good performances have not been able to make him a more prominent player for Flick.
In total, he has played 12 games for Barcelona this season, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists. Even though his situation is better than that of other players like Ansu Fati, the severe competition in midfield makes it impossible to get more minutes, and he will have to make a decision about his future next summer, as his contract ends in 2026.
