Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto is likely to miss matches against Arsenal and Napoli in addition to Sunday’s clash with Juventus.

This according to Italian news service ANSA, via FCInterNews. They report that the Brazilian is only likely to return to the pitch after the November international break.

Augusto is currently on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

The former Monza wingback picked up the injury during Wednesday’s Champions League win over Young Boys.

Augusto pulled up after an awkward-looking spring on the artificial turf. It was immediately clear that he had suffered a thigh problem and would have to come off the pitch.

And medical tests today confirm that Augusto has suffered a strain to the thigh flexor muscle in his left leg.

It was always clear that Augusto would be out for at least a couple matches with his injury.

Inter take on Juventus in the Derby d’Italia this weekend.

That is always a massive match for the Nerazzurri. But there would certainly be no chance of Augusto recovering in time for it.

Moreover, the fixture list has become very dense. Inter take on Empoli in midweek next week, and then face Venezia the following weekend.

According to ANSA, Augusto will not only miss those matches though.

The news service report that the Brazilian would have little hope of returning for any of Inter’s matches before the November international break.

The Nerazzurri take on Arsenal in the Champions League next month. And then their final match before the break comes against another major Serie A title in the form of Napoli.

ANSA report that Augusto will likely miss both of those matches as well.

However, the 25-year-old should be able to come back to fitness during the international break.

Therefore, Augusto could make his return in Inter’s first match back after the November break. That will be against Hellas Verona in Serie A.
