Gianluigi Donnarumma (25) has been officially omitted from the Paris Saint-Germain squad that will travel south to face Toulouse FC this evening. Les Parisiens are looking to maintain their 10-point lead over arch-rivals Olympique de Marseille, but they will have to do so without their first-choice goalkeeper.

According to a report from L’Équipe journalist Tanzi Loïc, Donnarumma was left out of the squad due to the choice of his head coach Luis Enrique. Le Parisien confirms this report stating that the goalkeeper is being rested ahead of the midweek Champions League clash with Stade Brestois.

This means that summer signing Matvei Safonov (25) will probably be the man between the posts for Les Parisiens this evening. The Russian international has been favoured in this role as back-up over third-choice Arnau Tenas (23) who is yet to make an appearance in the league this season.

Donnarumma’s absence means that Louis Mouquet (20) has been called up as the third-choice goalkeeper for this evening.
