Roma have earned 50 points in 23 Serie A games under Claudio Ranieri, and only Napoli have gained more in the same period, 51.

Roma would sit second in the Serie A table if the season had started when Ranieri was appointed in November.

Unfortunately for the Giallorossi, however, Ranieri was hired as their third coach in 2024-25 after Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric were sacked.

As reported by Radio Serie A on Instagram, the Giallorossi have earned 50 points in 23 games under the experienced coach, only one fewer than Napoli, the best team in the league in this period.

Ranieri’s Roma have earned one more point than Inter in the last 23 rounds, six more than Bologna, seven more than Atalanta and 11 more than Juventus.

The Giallorossi have been unbeaten in Serie A since December 15 and currently sit fifth in the table, level on points with fourth-placed Juventus and Lazio.

Roma were just four points above the relegation zone when Ranieri was appointed at the beginning of November.

What Ranieri said after Roma 1-0 Fiorentina

“I don’t know where we can go from here,” the 73-year-old told DAZN.

“I always ask the maximum from the players. I tell them that this summer, when we’re at the beach on vacation, we should have no regrets, no recriminations. We must be happy with what we will have managed to achieve.

“But I want to say that today [Sunday] we played against a very strong team.

“They’re technically very good, good, good. We wanted to press them high, but we couldn’t because they moved the ball well.

“So, we played a great game, full of suffering, and that’s what makes me proudest. Because when I ask for a performance, Roma always delivers.”
