A photo stemming from the aftermath of Real Madrid’s meeting with AC Milan on Tuesday has garnered widespread attention across the fanbase of the former.
This comes after only a solitary member of Los Blancos’ squad stayed behind, to thank the club’s supporters…
The individual in question? Antonio Rüdiger.
La Liga champions Real are of course fresh off an evening to forget on the continent on Tuesday.
After welcoming AC Milan to the Spanish capital for a Champions League showdown, the hosts found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 3-1 scoreline.
Fresh off a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of arch rivals Barcelona in their most recent domestic fixture, it is safe to say that things are not going according to plan on the white half of Madrid at present.
In turn, it will no doubt mark a source of disappointment for the Blancos faithful to hear that, last night, only one of the club’s stars made sure to make his own sorriness known, on the back of the full-time whistle.
As showcased in the photo below, and confirmed by sources in attendance at the Santiago Bernabéu, Antonio Rüdiger was the sole member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad to both thank and apologise to Real Madrid’s supporters:
