For the second time in five years, Paris Saint-Germain will compete in the final of the UEFA Champions League. Ousmane Dembéłé (27) believes that Les Parisiens’ hunger to win the competition could prove key in the final.
PSG have beaten the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal on their way to the Champions League final. It is the title that the club’s QSI owners have been desperate to win since taking over the club back in 2011, however, it is the title that continues to elude them.
There was the defeat in the final against Bayern Munich in 2020, whilst since then, they have reached the semi-final twice. However, they have now reached another final, where they will face Inter Milan, who also have recent heartbreak in Champions League, having lost the final to Manchester City in 2023.
Dembélé believes that PSG are the “most hungry” to win the Champions League this season. “The Champions League final is special. The key? I don’t think that there is a team that is hungrier than us. We want to bring the cup to Paris,” he said at the UNFP Awards on Sunday, as he was named Ligue 1’s Best Player for the 2024/25 campaign.
