Enzo Maresca has revealed that four Chelsea players are doubts for their Premier League clash with Wolves on Monday night.
Talisman Cole Palmer, along with Romeo Lavia, Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill, have all been absent from training ahead of the meeting with Wolves.
Speaking ahead of the game, Maresca said: “Cole is a doubt, he wasn’t in the session today.
“Levi was not in the session today, Enzo was not in the session today, Romeo was not in the session today.
“We have three or four players that are doubts about Monday’s game because of the last game, they have some problems.
“In the first half, they kicked Cole. He didn’t train today, we don’t know if he is going to train tomorrow, in two days, and it’s the same situation for Enzo, Romeo and Levi.”
Palmer is enjoying another fine season with the Blues, scoring 14 goals in 21 league games as well as notching six assists.
His form had helped Chelsea into an unexpected title push, but their recent results have seen them sink to fifth place.
Maresca insists, however, that his side can deal with the absence of Palmer.
“We rely on Cole because he is a big player,” he said. “We prefer to play with Cole, for sure, 100 per cent, but in case Cole is injured or there are some problems, we are going to find different solutions.”
Chelsea are without a win in their last five Premier League games but Maresca says he has been happy with the level of performance despite the poor run.
“Normally, you judge results and we are in a business where we all judge the results but if you judge the performance of the team, I’m happy.
“I’m not happy with the second half against Bournemouth because there is no reason why you can change between the first half and the second half.
“But the performances have been there. Sometimes you don’t win games.”
