The inexperienced whistler has taken charge of only four top-flight matches this season including Tuesday night’s astonishing encounter at Easter Road as Aberdeen dropped two points in a compelling 3-3 draw with relegation-threatened Hibs. Jimmy Thelin’s side are now two points behind Celtic with the Scottish champions also having a game in hand.

Only once before has Calum Scott been the man in the middle at Paradise. That came in Celtic’s entertaining 5-2 win versus Scottish Championship league leaders Falkirk in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final earlier this season.

Scott showed Bairns midfielder Michael McKenna a straight red card in the final moments of that League Cup encounter after McKenna flew into a challenge with Hoops right-back Anthony Ralston. It was a fairly straight-forward decision to be fair.

Over 15 competitive matches in Scotland this campaign, Calum Scott has produced 58 yellow cards whilst ordering three players off during that period.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers’ side will be aiming to add another comfortable victory to their unbeaten run of games domestically so far this season.

Don Cowie’s Staggies come to Celtic Park on the back of an impressive 2-1 win against Motherwell at the Global Energy Stadium last Saturday. That important victory saw Ross County leap to eighth place in the table having accumulated 15 points from 14 games.

Assisting referee Calum Scott in Glasgow’s East End on Saturday afternoon are Gordon Crawford and Craig Ferguson running the lines. At Clydesdale House manning VAR duties is our old friend Greg Aitken. Whilst Graham McNeillie takes the role as AVAR.

Celtic Park will be full as usual at 3pm on Saturday afternoon and we’ll hear from Brendan Rodgers tomorrow afternoon regarding team news. It’s likely that this will be a game where the squad players are utilised to give some regular starters a rest ahead of the trip to Pittodrie in midweek.
