Sections of the travelling Real Madrid support in attendance at the club’s showdown with Barcelona made use of the opportunity to poke fun at their arch rivals.

This came by way of a banner, highlighting the Blaugrana’s midweek Champions League exit.

Barcelona of course saw their treble hopes come to an end on Tuesday night, owing to a 7-6 aggregate defeat at the hands of Inter Milan in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

As much was met with widespread glee across the fanbase of Real Madrid, large sections of whom were quick to make their appreciation for the efforts of Simone Inzaghi’s Inter known.

And as alluded to above, such gestures on the part of the Blancos faithful have carried over into today’s latest edition of El Clásico.

Ahead of kick-off at Montjuïc, a banner was unveiled in the away end, featuring an image with the combined crests of Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
